The Buffalo Bills made a major move in their wide receiver room this offseason, acquiring D.J. Moore from the Chicago Bears.
As a result, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes the Bills could cut ties with Joshua Palmer to clear some space in the position group.
"They [The Bills] simply might not have a role for Palmer in the offense after adding D.J. Moore via a trade. Khalil Shakir was Buffalo's leading receiver last season, and the Bills may still be looking to salvage Keon Coleman. Tyrell Shavers and Mecole Hardman are also in the receiver mix," Knox said.
Palmer appeared in just 12 games in 2025 due to a lingering ankle injury, which led to him tallying just 22 receptions for 303 yards.
Heading into 2026, Palmer should compete for a starting spot on the Bills' offense opposite Moore, as Khalil Shakir primarily operates in the slot. However, Buffalo could opt to go in a different direction and cut the veteran after June 1, saving $2 million.
If Palmer gets cut, he should have a decent free-agent market, as the 26-year-old has shown in the past that he can be productive in a complementary role, especially during his time with the Los Angeles Chargers from 2021 to 2024.
Palmer's tenure in Los Angeles, which included a 72-reception season with 769 yards in 2022, led to him signing a three-year deal worth $29 million with the Bills last offseason.
The Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, and San Francisco 49ers could use some veteran depth in their receiver rooms, and Palmer would be a solid fit for all three franchises.
Kansas City and Las Vegas have experience playing against Palmer, so they could show interest in the former Charger. San Francisco's wide receiver group will look a lot different in 2026, with Jauan Jennings unlikely to return and Brandon Aiyuk's days with the franchise also numbered.
Buffalo should hold on to Palmer for 2026 and not subtract talent from their pass-catching arsenal. However, if they do cut ties with the Tennessee product, he should land on his feet quickly with another team, and the Chiefs, Raiders, and 49ers could be possible landing spots.
