Bill Belichick and North Carolina made it official on Thursday. The Tar Heels' new head football coach finally signed his contract, putting the UNC fanbase at ease a little bit.

Now, fans can start preparing for life with Belichick roaming the college sidelines, decked out in Carolina baby blue. It’s sure to be nothing short of intriguing. At least now everyone knows when they can expect to see Belichick make his debut.

Also released on Thursday was the first part of North Carolina football's schedule. Let’s just say, Chapel Hill might be a little bit busier on Labor Day weekend this year.

The Tar Heels will host Big 12’s TCU in Week 1 of college football, right on Labor Day night at 7:30 p.m. EST, Sept. 1, at Kenan Stadium. That means Belichick is getting the Monday night football treatment, even at the college level. The Tar Heels’ matchup against the Horned Frogs will be the finale of Week 1 and the first Monday night regular season game in UNC history, according to the team’s website.

North Carolina fans should embrace the Monday night matchup for a multitude of reasons. Not only does it put the Tar Heels in the spotlight, but their new head coach has done quite well on Monday nights throughout his career. During his time with the New England Patriots, Belichick went 21-10 in Monday night games.

This will be just the fourth meeting between UNC and TCU, with their last matchup coming in 1997. The Tar Heels are undefeated so far. It’s worth noting, however, that TCU has won four of its last five games against ACC opponents.

North Carolina's, along with the rest of the ACC team's schedules, will be released on Monday.
