Bill Belichick's relationship with North Carolina Tar Heels football predicted to crash and burn this season

America's most fascinating college football hub is no longer Tuscaloosa, Alabama, or Columbus, Ohio, but rather Chapel Hill, North Carolina. After decades of trying to harness a team-centric culture while evading the public eye with the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick himself has become the constant parade of distracting headlines.

Belichick's relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson has been the talk of the sports world beyond the staggering age gap, thanks to her constant presence around the Tar Heels' coach.

Hudson shutting down Belichick's interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" was a peek at her influence on the 73-year-old, but UNC has been swift in dispelling any concern around the relationship until now.

In a recent piece for The Athletic, North Carolina reporter Brendan Marks attempted to do an exposé on Hudson, revealing just one of the emails being sent to the school's president expressing concern about Belichick's confidant.

"I am a longtime UNC fan and cannot believe you are stuck with a coach who is clearly being run by a woman who is young enough to be his granddaughter dominating football practice and interviews," the supporter wrote, according to Marks. "It's ridiculous, won't end well, and makes UNC look foolish."

Although this is just one isolated message, it's a snapshot of the current climate in Tar Heel country.

UNC has tried to control the narrative by releasing a statement about Hudson's role within the program, but with the regular season rapidly approaching, how much power does the administration have?

Belichick leaving would only further embarrass the North Carolina brass and reset the timeline of trying to be a relevant contender in the ACC.

If history is an indicator, Belichick hates not to get his way.
