Beyoncé Shares Sweet Moment With Mom Tina Knowles Onstage During Cowboy Carter Tour

Beyoncé managed to still get in formation—despite a mishap in stage direction.

ICYMI, during the second night of her Cowboy Carter tour, the singer had a bit of a hiccup. In a video shared to TikTok by user @makanaaaaaaa from the May 1 show at SoFi Stadium, Beyoncé was seen looking for her mark just before heading into her “Cozy” segment, which features her standing onstage as gold frames surround her (by way of robotic arms).

However, as the 44-year-old waited for the frames to take their place around her upper body, she looked down at the stage in search of her mark—which didn’t appear to be there.

The show went on as the Grammy winner looked visibly confused, but she managed to carefully complete her routine while narrowly avoiding being hit by the robotic props. But not to worry, she was able to find her footing and join her dancers for the rest of the song.

While the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer didn’t allow the moment to rattle her, fans took to the comments of the video and reacted to the moment with concerns for her safety, with one writing, “She keep looking at the floor in disbelief.” As another added, “It’s a major safety hazard. Good for her for hitting her mark anyways.”

That said, Beyoncé didn’t allow the moment to put a damper on the show. During the performance of “Protector,” in addition to being joined onstage by her and Jay-Z’s daughters Blue Ivy, 13, and Rumi Carter, 7, Beyoncé also included a special guest: Her mother Tina Knowles.

In fact, Queen Bey encouraged the audience to celebrate her mother, who has become a New York Times Bestseller  with her memoir Matriarch.

“Today is a big day because my mother, who worked so hard on her book, has the number one book on the New York Times bestsellers,” she told the crowd before urging them to say, “Congratulations, Mama T!”

The Cowboy Carter tour kicked off on April 28 with a star-studded audience inside of SoFi stadium. So far, the tour has seen numerous viral moments, including the return of Blue Ivy—who dances alongside her mother, during the three-hour show.
