Exploring the best teams for Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Apocalyptic Shadow, Primate Knight

Like every other Apocalyptic Shadow reset, this one also features a new set of Node Buffs. Let’s take a look at them before we dive into the best teams to use:

Node 1

  • Shatterstrike - All allies deal 10% extra Weakness Break damage. Whenever an enemy target is inflicted with the Weakness Break state, all allies deal an additional 5% damage.
  • Linebreaker - The first character of the composition can ignore 15% of the targeted enemy’s DEF.
  • Unto Apotheosis - Whenever an ally consumes a Skill Point, their CRIT DMG increases by 6%. This stack can be stacked up to 10 times.

Node 2

  • Past Life: Shadow Reverie - If there are three or more memosprites on the battlefield, all allies’ damage increases by 60%.
  • Whirlwind Turn - When an allied character attacks an enemy with one or more DoT states, that particular unit’s SPD gets boosted by 25% for three turns.
  • Knowledge and Decorum - If your team consists of an Erudition character, then everyone receives 15% All-Type RES PEN.

Best teams for Node 1

Rappa, The Dahlia, Fugue, and Ruan Mei/Lingsha

Since Argenti is weak to the Imaginary Element, this Rappa Super Break team will be quite handy. As usual, the aforementioned unit is the “carry” of the team, while others support her. With The Dahlia’s help, Rappa can deal Super Break damage before breaking their weakness.

Although you can easily run this team without sustainers, replace Ruan Mei with one (preferably Lingsha) if you deem it necessary. Use the Shatterstrike node buff if you decide to use this team.

Phainon, Cerydra, Sunday, and Bronya/Dan Heng PT

Phainon’s usual hypercarry team can prove to be effective in the first node of the Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Apocalyptic Shadow. Cerydra helps the Destruction unit gain his Coreflames faster to trigger his ultimate. The others, Sunday and Bronya, will help him get more turns while granting him crit buffs.

Like the previous one, this team can also survive without a healer/sustainer. Hence, we recommend using Bronya over Dan Heng PT (Permansor Terrae). Lastly, use the Linebreaker Node buff.

Mydei, Cyrene, Remembrance MC/Tribbie, and Hyacine

If you don’t have the Rappa Super Break team to defeat Argenti, you can use this Mydei hypercarry composition. He can deal a significant amount of damage with his abilities. Here, Cyrene and Remembrance MC/Tribbie buff the Destruction unit. Since Mydei tends to consume his HP, a sustainer like Hyacine will help you out a lot.

As for the Node buff, both Linebreaker and Unto Apotheosis work well with this composition.

Best teams for Node 2

Castorice, Evernight, Cyrene, and Hyacine

Since the Past Life: Shadow Reverie in Node 2 grants buffs to characters with memosprites, this Castorice team is the best team to clear it. As this is one of the best current meta-defining compositions, you won’t face any issues while clearing the node. Castorice’s Netherwing and Evernight’s Evey can deal an absurd amount of damage.

As all four units can summon memosprites, they can easily utilize the Node buff.

The Herta, Anaxa, Tribbie, and Dan Heng Permansor Terrae

Another team that you can build to clear Node 2 is this The Herta dual DPS composition. It consists of two meta-defining characters that deal an absurd amount of damage individually. Although the Blaznana Monkey Trick is already weak to Ice, Anaxa can place the Element on the enemies without it.

Besides that, Tribbie helps them out with her RES PEN buffs. On the other hand, Dan Heng PT protects everyone with his shield. Before starting the fight, make sure you are using the Knowledge and Decorum Node buff.

Black Swan, Kafka, Hysilens, and Huohuo

While it's not used by many players, you can use the reprised Kafka DoT team to tackle Node 2 of Honkai Star Rail 3.8 Apocalyptic Shadow. As most already know, the composition consists of Black Swan, Hysilens, Kafka, and Huohuo. Since the Blaznana Monkey Trick is weak to the Lightning Element, the Stellaron Hunter will prove to be useful. When fighting, try to break the boss’s weakness bar as quickly as possible to nuke its health bar.

The Whirlwind Turn Node buff is the best one for this team.
