It’s a lean Thursday night in the NBA, with just a 6-pack on tap, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t real star power on display. There’s a biggie in LA, where the Warriors and Lakers battle as two teams that are pushing their way into title contender status.
We’ve pulled a prop bet from that game, for sure, and we’ve scanned the rest for our favorite set of NBA player props. Check out our best NBA prop picks for Thursday night games below.
NBA Player Prop Picks for April 3
Prop #1 Quentin Grimes Over 23.5 points vs Bucks (-115 at Bet365)
Two things needed to happen for Quentin Grimes to shine like this. First, his deal from Dallas to Philly was a throwaway since another cat named Luke Doncic was ripped from the organization and took all the headlines.
The second was Philly’s implosion and general lack of healthy bodies. Grimes has taken the minutes and shown the world he is a legit NBA-caliber player.
He averaged a whopping 26.6 points in March on 50.4% shooting from the field and 40.3% from 3-point range.
He started April the same, pouring in 26 in the loss to the Knicks. He’s got a generous 23.5 line vs the Bucks, a team that’s only middle of the pack in scoring defense, and with no legit defender that can shut him down.
Prop #2 Luka Doncic Over 28.5 points vs Warriors (-115 at Bet365)
Speaking of Doncic, I don’t actually even think he’s fully healthy or in shape, but he just finished the month of March averaging 30.1 points, albeit on a rough 43.1% from the field, but a better 40.5% from 3-point range.
He cracked the 30-point plateau in nine of 15 games, literally on Top-5 talent alone.
Doncic is the newest actor in the main attraction battle between Steph and LeBron, and he has feasted on Golden State defense, busting past the 28.5-point line set for him Thursday in eight of his last nine against the Dubs.
It doesn’t matter if it’s Jimmy Butler or Draymond Green, or anyone else Golden State wants to throw at him – Doncic should shine in this mega matchup.
Prop #3 Deni Avdija Under 25.5 points vs Raptors (-115 at Bet365)
It’s been a breakout year for the 2020 Top 10 pick Deni Avdija, and March was the best month of his NBA career.
Avdija put up 23.4 points on 51% shooting, while drilling 45.7% from distance on over six attempts per game.
He’s topped 25.5 points in back-to-back games, but there are several factors that I see slowing him down. The first is the fact that Portland will be playing the fourth game in a 5-game trek that’s taken them from West to East.
This is now the fifth road trip of at least four games for Portland. In the previous four, Avdija scored 26 points or more just one in the last two games of any trip.
Throw in the fact that it’s Portland’s lone trip up North, and the game plan might cater more for Canadian kid Shaedon Sharpe to be featured in what amounts to a meaningless game for both teams (though the Blazers are technically still alive for a playoff spot).
