When it comes to Halloween, nobody does a coordinated friends costume like Benito Skinner and Mary Beth Barone.

In recent years, the two comedians, actors, and Ride podcast co-hosts—who are also real-life BFFs—have nailed the storied art of incredibly niche, highly specific, social media brainrot Halloween costumes. In 2021, they paid homage to Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian; In 2023, they dressed up as Kylie Jenner and the Schiaparelli lion. What a roar! This year, they even recreated the iconic exchange between Dakota Johnson and Ellen DeGeneres (on her daytime talk show Ellen) in which Johnson quipped, “That’s not the truth, Ellen.”

So who better to ask, then, for some last-minute Halloween costumes for this weekend’s festivities? Because let’s face it: A lot of you out there have procrastinated and are now scrambling to put something together for your friend-of-a-friend’s weird house party.

If you’re out of ideas, fear not. . . Skinner and Barone have come up with 12 original and fresh ideas that will instantly make you the life of any party. Come for the clever Zendaya red carpet look idea. . . stay for the “what was what?” lady from The Wendy Williams Show. These are for sure conversation starters.

Skinner and Barone sent us a list of their 12 insanely creative (and only slightly unhinged) last-minute Halloween ideas, below:

  • Benjamin Franklin and his kite (queer history).
  • Mary Beth Barone and Joe Alwyn on the Williamsburg Bridge (Benny out of town).
  • A pair of shoes.
  • The Olympic Rings.
  • The line outside Mejuri.
  • The line outside Brandy Melville.
  • Zendaya when she wore that Spider-Man shirt with heels (Benny has worn this combo a lot).
  • Shane Gillis's worst nightmare (an Alo two-piece).
  • Benny as Mary Beth from the Galaxy Brain special (MUST wear muscle suit underneath corset).
  • Paris Hilton's daughter dressed as Chip from Beauty and the Beast.
  • Margaret Red [from Carrie]. Bob wig, plaid shirt, and a ring light you can borrow from any actor in your life who tapes auditions at home and is starting to think about quitting the industry.
  • The “What was that?” lady from The Wendy Williams Show.

Now start digging in your closet and get ready to explain yourself. Happy Halloween!
