Bengals superstar vents frustration with coaching staff after Chargers loss

Cincinnati Bengals superstar wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase wasn't in the mood to dive into details.

Following Sunday night's 34-27 loss against the Los Angeles Chargers in prime time — another game that featured Cincinnati's inability to finish — Chase didn't try to hide his emotions.

The star wideout put together another stellar game as the NFL's leading receiver, posting seven receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns in the loss. It pushed his season total to a league-high 1,056 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Asked why the Bengals' season continues to be defined by their inability to finish, Chase vented his frustrations.

"I don’t know. Ask Zac (Taylor). Ask the coaches. Don’t ask me. It’s not my job," Chase told reporters. “I play football on the field. I don’t call plays for us. So I can’t really do nothing.”

The Bengals offense got off to a slow start Sunday night, registering just six points halfway through the third quarter. The unit caught fire, though, scoring 21 straight points to tie the game at 27 with 12:21 left in the fourth quarter.

While Joe Burrow threw for 356 yards and three touchdowns, Tee Higgins also had a monster day with nine receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown.

The Bengals now sit at 4-7 entering the bye week and falling further out of playoff contention while the frustrations continue to mount.
