Ben Shelton kickstarted his 2025 Paris Masters campaign with a win over Flavio Cobolli in the opening round. Shelton's girlfriend and soccer star Trinity Rodman sent her love online in support of the American as he progresses at the event.

Shelton's serve was a powerful weapon in his arsenal. He won 86% on first serve as against Cobolli's 81% and pushed the Italian deep in rallies to eventually register a 7-6 (4), 6-3 win.

Rodman re-shared a picture of Shelton from @atptour on Instagram on her story displaying the scoreline. She used a single heart emoji to express her love for Shelton.

Rodman's support comes at a time when the World No. 6 is springing back from an injury. The 2023 US Open and 2024 Australian Open semifinalist was hopeful to make a deep run at the US Open this year when he was derailed by a shoulder injury in the third round. He was back on tour at the Shanghai Masters where he lost to David Goffin in the opening round and later at the Swiss Indoor Basel where he lost to Juame Munar in the second round.

Despite the injury slump, Shelton is at the 6th spot and on track to potentially make his debut at the ATP Finals in Turin.

Ben Shelton and Trinity Rodman have been Instagram official since March this year. Being professional athletes, they both support each other in their respective sporting careers and are often present at each other's games.

The couple have also seen their fair share of injuries. In a recent episode of 'Friendlies' on X with Sam Mewis, Rodman shared what Shelton's support meant to her when she was sidelined due to back injury in March, right at the beginning of the couple's relationship.

"I would say Ben was huge in that support, and it’s so funny because it was like the start of our relationship. Rough! Rough timing for Ben. It was literally like the beginning of our relationship. I’m going through, like, the hardest time of my life... I’m really happy we made it out of that," Rodman said.

The Olympic gold medallist unfortunately suffered another brutal injury at a game during the 2025 Concacaf W Championship Cup earlier this month. She shared an update with fans as she returned to training recently.

Ben Shelton will next face Andrey Rublev in the second round of the 2025 Paris Masters on Thursday, October 30.
