Ben Affleck got candid about his infamous nude scene in 2014's Gone Girl, revealing once and for all whether he wore a prosthetic for the film.

Ben Affleck Reveals Whether He Wore a Prosthetic in ‘Gone Girl’ Shower Scene

Ben Affleck truly bared it all.

Twelve years after starring in the psychological thriller Gone Girl, the Oscar winner confirmed that he actually displayed full frontal nudity during the infamous shower scene in which he confronts costar Rosamund Pike.

“I wore no prosthesis,” Affleck told Variety in an interview published Oct. 7. “I’ve only worn one in one film, Hollywoodland. It was a nose.”

And his choice to go completely nude came back to how much Affleck trusted Gone Girl director David Fincher.

“I was willing to do anything for him,” the 54-year-old told Letterboxd in an Oct. 6 interview, “like, be naked.”

“Working with David was the great privilege of my life,” Affleck added. “He’s one of the absolute greatest filmmakers ever to live.”

In fact, it was Fincher’s name that drew the Animals actor to join the film in the first place, because he “believed that it was gonna be great.”

“You’re really lucky if the people that you get to be around for work enrich your life,” Affleck explained. “I learned an enormous amount from David. I was experienced enough to pay close enough attention and to know enough to really learn more because I had context with which to appreciate what he was doing.”

And while he joked he “fell in love with” Fincher during the making of the 2014 film, he still has a slightly different relationship with his onscreen wife Pike, whose character was willing to go to any length for her own ambitions.

“I’m still afraid of Rosamund Pike,” Affleck admitted in a video interview with Variety posted to YouTube Oct. 7. “I’m like, ‘Hey Rosamund. How are you?’ She still has that—sort of—look. You know what I mean?”

The Argo star then did his best impression of Pike’s British accent, saying in her voice, “Hello Ben, it’s nice to talk to you. It’s good to see you again.”

“I’m like, ‘Oh, f--k.’ She still has that quality,” he mused. “It was a great performance. She was great in the movie.”
