New York Post Composite
Your most expensive beauty products might be the easiest ones to stop buying.
I’ll always have a soft spot for the brands lining the shelves at Sephora, and if I’m being honest, I don’t really lean into drugstore beauty all that often.
That said, after testing beauty products professionally for more than half a decade, I’ve found myself paying a lot more attention to affordable launches on Amazon that perform far above their price tags. Some of them have earned permanent spots in my routine right alongside products that cost three or four times as much.
Not to mention, you can save $388 by switching to my affordable beauty favorites below and saying goodbye to the high-end version. (Trust me, I whipped out the calculator for this.)
I’ve never believed that a higher price automatically means a better formula. Over the years, I’ve tested everything from viral favorites to high-end staples and I’ve learned that ingredients, texture and performance matter much more than the logo on the packaging. There are plenty of budget-friendly products that deliver results you’d expect from luxury beauty — from foundations to brow products.
That’s especially true when it comes to complexion products, makeup and everyday essentials. A great lookalike isn’t about copying a product exactly; it’s about delivering the same finish, wear time or overall experience while helping you spend a lot less.
These are the affordable beauty buys I’ve reached for again and again because they remind me of luxury favorites I already know and love. If you’re looking to trim your beauty budget without feeling like you’re settling, these are the products I’d recommend first.
NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Liner
AmazonThe NYX Professional Makeup Epic Ink Liner gives me the same deep black payoff and precise control that I love from Benefit Cosmetics Roller Liner ($22). It glides on smoothly, stays put for hours and creates everything from subtle flicks to dramatic wings with ease. At a fraction of the price, it’s one of the easiest swaps I’ve made.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Liquid Filter
AmazonThe e.l.f. Cosmetics Halo Glow Liquid Filter delivers that radiant lit-from-within glow that made Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($50) so popular. I wear it under foundation, mixed into makeup or on its own for a fresh complexion. The finish is luminous without looking glittery, and I never feel like I’m missing out by choosing the less expensive option.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Power Grip Primer
AmazonThe e.l.f. Cosmetics Power Grip Primer has the same tacky texture that helps makeup stay in place all day just like Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer ($38). It grips foundation without feeling heavy or sticky after application. My makeup looks fresh for hours and my skin never feels dry underneath.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara
AmazonMaybelline’s Lash Sensational Sky High Mascara gives my lashes impressive length and definition with very little clumping. It creates a dramatic look that reminds me of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($29) but feels a bit lighter on my lashes. I reach for it just as often as the Sephora-sold version.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo Concealer
AmazonThe e.l.f. Cosmetics Camo Concealer offers full coverage that easily rivals Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer ($32). It covers dark circles and blemishes with just a small amount of product. I also appreciate how well it lasts throughout the day without fading.
Milani Baked Blush in “Luminoso”
AmazonMilani’s Baked Blush in “Luminoso” gives my cheeks the same peachy glow that made NARS “Orgasm” Blush ($36) a classic. The finely milled shimmer looks flattering instead of sparkly, and it’s one of the best affordable blushes I’ve tested.
Essence Pure Nude Highlighter
AmazonThe Essence Pure Nude Highlighter creates a soft candlelit glow that reminds me of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Finishing Powder ($58). It blends seamlessly into the skin without emphasizing texture, and the finish looks polished whether I’m wearing minimal makeup or a full face.
L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum
AmazonWant a face base lookalike? The L’Oréal Paris True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum gives lightweight coverage with a natural skin-like finish similar to the ILIA Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 40 ($48). It feels comfortable throughout the day and adds a healthy glow without looking greasy. I often reach for it when I want quick effortless makeup.
e.l.f. Cosmetics Brow Lift
AmazonThe e.l.f. Cosmetics Brow Lift keeps my brows fluffy and locked in place much like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze ($23). The clear formula doesn’t leave behind flaky residue or stiffness. Not to mention. it has become my everyday brow styling product because it performs so well.
Revolution Beauty Superdewy Liquid Blush Burst
AmazonThis is one of my favorites. Revolution Beauty’s Superdewy Liquid Blush blends easily and gives my cheeks the same fresh healthy flush I love from Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush ($25). A tiny amount goes a long way so the tube lasts much longer than you’d expect. Oh, and the finish stays natural-looking even after hours of wear.
CeraVe Moisturizing Cream
AmazonHear me out on this one. CeraVe’s Moisturizing Cream leaves my skin feeling deeply hydrated with a rich barrier-supporting formula that reminds me of the SkinCeuticals Triple Lipid Restore 2:4:2 ($155).
While the ingredient lists aren’t identical, they deliver a similarly nourished comfortable feel on my skin. Whenever my barrier needs extra support, this is the affordable moisturizer I reach for first.
