Everyone currently has their first round picks in this upcoming draft — for now.
Bears’ GM Ryan Poles gave his thoughts on what could happen, alluding to some potential craziness near the top of the board of Thursday’s draft.
"I think this one’s going to be a little wild,” Poles said Tuesday. “But we’re going to be prepared for all the different scenarios that pop up.
“I think there is going to be a lot more movement than there has been in the past.”
The Bears own the No. 10 overall pick. They also hold the No. 39 overall and No. 41 selection — Poles didn’t divulge what his plans might be, but did allude to some picks changing hands on Thursday.
Chicago’s assistant GM Ian Cunningham echoed a similar sentiment.

“It could get wild,” Cunningham said. “Sit back and watch.”
The Bears have been one of the offseason’s winners with the team trading a 2026 fourth-round pick to the Chiefs in a trade for Joe Thuney early this offseason. They’ve solidified their offensive line in a bevy of ways, and now seem poised to make a jump under new head coach Ben Johnson.
The Bears have been projected to potentially draft Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty with their selection — but really could select most positions.
"If a young guy's got to wait, then he has to wait," Poles said.
The Bears are also the only team entering the draft with three picks in the top 50 — it’ll be interesting to see where Poles decides to go Thursday night.
