The Chicago Bears were forced to start Case Keenum in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he was incredible, more than making up for the loss of Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent.

But leading up to Week 4 against the New York Jets, Ben Johnson was playing coy about who the starter would be, before Bagent was eventually revealed to be the starter.

For the Bears' Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers, he's taking a completely different tune. ESPN's Adam Schefter shared that Johnson has already named Bagent the starter for next week during an appearance on ESPN 1000.

Ben Johnson reveals Week 5 starting QB one day after Week 4 win

"Bears HC Ben Johnson told @JeffJoniak on @ESPN1000 that QB Tyson Bagent is expected to start Sunday at Green Bay against the Packers," Schefter reports.

This decision from Johnson shouldn't come as a surprise, as if the Bears were ever going to name Keenum the starter, it would've come after his impressive Week 3 showing.

Bagent and the Bears dominated the Jets in Week 4, though Bagent himself was, for the most part, unremarkable.

The Bears' Week 5 starter, in his first real chance to play this season, went 25 for 34 for 268 yards with no touchdowns and one interception. He also had four rushes for one yard.

Bagent didn't exactly light up the box score, but thanks to Kyle Monangai running the ball 30 times at 4.9 yards per touch, and the Bears absolutely dominating time of possession, Bagent didn't really have much he needed to do this week.

But, facing the NFC North rival Packers next weekend, the Bears might need Bagent to have a better day through the air.

Caleb Williams will continue to miss time this season, as he's already missed Week 3 and Week 4, and now is going to miss Week 5 with this news. He's eyeing a Week 6 return when the Bears face the Atlanta Falcons, but for now, this is Bagent's offense.
