Bayern Munich star drops huge preseason injury update

Bayern Munich have had a stuttering summer transfer window until now as they have recently signed Luis Diaz after missing out on several of their priorities.

The German champions reclaimed the Bundesliga title last season, but they suffered a lot of injuries which derailed their Champions League campaign.

However, ahead of the 2025/26 campaign Bayern have received a major boost as Alphonso Davies shared his injury update on his personal twitch handle.

Vincent Kompany and his men desperately missed the services of the Canadian international last season especially during the business end of the campaign.

So it is crucial for Bayern that Davies returns to full fitness and also regains his best form in the upcoming months.

"I'm happy. My knee is getting better, my muscles are coming back. So I'm happy with everything that's going on right now with injury. I'm happy to be back on the pitch soon. There's still a little bit to go, but for me it's soon, considering where I was before," Davies stated on his Twitch channel

According to BILD, the 24-year-old left-back has resumed training for the first time since his ACL surgery.

What happened to Alphonso Davies?

Davies joined Bayern Munich from Vancouver Whitecaps in 2018, and he hasn't looked back since then.

The Canadian soon became the fan favourite in Bavaria with his performances and also was a crucial part of Bayern's treble winning campaign in 2019/20.

He has been a crucial part of the setup at Bayern under different coaches and signed a new contract in February 2024 but in just a month he suffered an unfortunate knee injury during the international break which kept him out of the remainder of the 2024/25 campaign.

There was a lot of controversy surrounding his injury as Bayern Munich blamed the Canadian national team for not being careful with their star player.

Things were pretty heated as the Canadian coach Jesse Marsch dismissed allegation from Bayern and said it was just bad luck that the 24-year-old got injured.

Despite being only 24, Davies has been one of the most important players for Bayern in recent years having made 226 appearances already across seven seasons.

He had an emotional recovery and rehabilitation which he shared in one of his YouTube videos but now he is back in the ground, training and gradually returning to full fitness.
