Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green was singled out by Bay Area radio host Evan Giddings on Friday. Giddings highlighted a brutal stat that showed how the one-time Defensive Player of the Year has struggled with the Warriors.
The “95.7 The Game” host asserted that Green should make way for Jimmy Butler, who has seen his role in the team reduced.
"Draymond is now a minus-69 for the month of December... I'd like to see less Draymond and more Butler. They're kind of redundant."•

Draymond Green and coach Steve Kerr had a heated verbal exchange during a timeout in the third quarter. Green walked off the court and went to the locker room mid-game to cool off and did not re-enter the game for the remainder of the contest, even though the Warriors went on to win 120-97.
He explained his decision to leave as it was meant to de-escalate the situation rather than make things worse. Coach Kerr acknowledged that both he and Green apologized to each other and to the team.
The Warriors have gone on to win three consecutive games since losing six of the previous 10 games. Green is averaging 8.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game for the season.
Draymond Green open to bench role, coach Steve Kerr says
Draymond Green, according to coach Steve Kerr on Wednesday, is open to a role from the bench. Despite his desire to assist the Warriors in the best possible way, Coach Kerr wasn’t buying the idea.
“He's told me,” Kerr said. “He told me, this year, ‘I'll go to the bench if you need me to. I know what Draymond is about. He's about winning. That's not even a consideration for me right now, because I'm really excited about this starting lineup.” “So, the idea of bringing him off the bench, I understand it in theory, like, well, maybe we can get this or get that," Kerr added. “That's all we do as a staff is think about this stuff. All day long. And we've had every discussion about how to make our team the best. I'm convinced it's with what we're doing right now.”
