Barack Obama Shares Photo of Michelle Obama With Daughters Sasha and Malia in Mother's Day Tribute
Barack Obama gets the vote for most adorable Mother's Day tribute.
The former president celebrated his wife of 33 years Michelle Obama for the special holiday by sharing a rare photo of the former first lady with their daughters Malia Obama, 26, and Sasha Obama, 23.
In the black-and-white pic posted to X (formerly Twitter) on May 11, Michelle, 61, embraced Malia—who rocked long braids with two face-framing pieces—by wrapping a protective arm around her head and leaning her head towards her daughter. Meanwhile, Sasha—rocking straight hair, a tank top and a jean jacket draped off her shoulder—hugged her mom by the waist from behind.
Alongside the sweet snap, Barack wrote, "@MichelleObama, the girls and I are so lucky to have you in our lives. We love you."
And the 63-year-old also included a heartwarming message for other matriarchs, adding, "Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms and mother-figures!"
And while Malia and Sasha may not make public appearances often, Michelle and Barack have more recently shared glimpses at life with their daughters.

"We call that the Obama tax for them," she quipped during an April 29 appearance on SiriusXM's Let’s Talk Off Camera with Kelly Ripa. "You'll have it the rest of your life, but you also have a lot of benefits."

The Becoming author continued, "I'm trying to make this feel normal to them, because you don't want them to start thinking, number one, they're full of themselves, that any of this is about them and that their job is to go about their lives."
Noting the kind of mindset she wants her kids to have, Michelle added, "This world is not about you. This is just your dad's job."
