Backstage confusion after botched WWE title win - Reports

There was reportedly a lot of backstage confusion following a surprising title win last night on WWE NXT. A title unexpectedly changed hands due to a botched finish during last night's show.

Thea Hail captured the NXT Women's North American Championship from Blake Monroe during last night's show, but it was not supposed to happen. According to a new report from Fightful Select, the finish to the NXT Women's North American Championship match last night did not go as planned.

A source disclosed to the publication that the botch happened at a bad time, as NXT was near the end of filming for the year ahead of the holiday break. Fightful's report noted that people were scrambling to try to make sense of things they had already filmed following the title change.

Blake Monroe reportedly had the wind knocked out of her, resulting in her not being able to kick out following Hail's move, but that could not be confirmed. The report added that an NXT higher-up suggested that this could lead to policy changes for talent and require them to be there until the end of tapings.

Thea Hail sent a hilarious message after she captured the NXT Women's North American Championship.

Hail took to social media following her surprising victory over Blake Monroe to send a message to the WWE Universe. The popular star noted that she was unhinged and crazy, but was now also a champion in NXT. Blake Monroe held the title for 52 days before dropping it to Hail during last night's show.

"Unhinged, controversial, BAT SH*T F*CKING CRAZY ✨YOUR NEW NXT WOMENS NORTH AMERICAN CHAMPION✨" she wrote.

It will be fascinating to see what WWE has planned moving forward after Blake Monroe lost the NXT Women's North American Championship to Thea Hail during last night's show.
