Axar Patel knocks over Josh Inglis for 12 in AUS vs IND 2025 4th T20I [Watch]

Axar Patel provided India a timely dismissal in the fourth T20I against Australia in Queensland on Thursday, November 6. The left-arm spinner knocked over Josh Inglis for 12 runs off 11 balls as the Aussies lost their second wicket for 67 runs.

The dismissal came in the ninth over of Australia’s run chase. Axar bowled a flatter delivery aimed at the stumps. The batter came charging down the track and swung through the line, but missed out as the ball sneaked past the inside edge to crash into the stumps. The right-hander went for a release shot after facing four dots in the last three overs.

Josh Inglis has failed to deliver in the T20I series, perishing for scores of 20, 1, and 12 (today). It was his second dismissal against spinners after getting lbw out by Kuldeep Yadav in the second T20I.

India set a 168-run target for Australia in the 4th T20I; Axar Patel bags two wickets

Shubman Gill top-scored as India posted 167/8 against Australia in the fourth T20I. The right-handed batter scored 46 runs off 39 balls with the help of one six and four boundaries. Meanwhile, Abhishek Sharma, Shivam Dube, and skipper Suryakumar Yadav chipped in with scores of 28 (21), 22 (18), and 20 (10), respectively. Later, Axar Patel slammed a quickfire 21 off 11 deliveries, while Washington Sundar added 12 off seven deliveries.

Nathan Ellis and Adam Zampa starred with the ball, returning with figures of 3/21 and 3/45, respectively. Xavier Bartlett and Marcus Stoinis bagged one wicket apiece.

In response, the Aussies were 84/3 after 11 overs, with Tim David and Josh Phillipe at the crease. Axar Patel has been the leading wicket-taker for India in his first three overs, including Matthew Short's (25 off 19) scalp.

The five-match series is currently level at 1-1. The winner of this match will not lose the series. The fifth and final T20I will be held at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday, November 8.
