The main objective of this quest is to find the Sarentu. It is quite a lengthy mission that requires a lot of exploration. Here are the main steps involved:

• Investigate different areas for signs of the Sarentu.

Find the flight recorder

Start the quest by flying to the first objective marker using your Ikran. Follow the marker until you reach a crashed helicopter. Stand near the wreckage and interact with it to collect the flight recorder. This will trigger a short cutscene, and you will meet Nor. You will continue the rest of the journey with him.

Investigate the camp ruins

Head towards the burned camp nearby and follow the objective marker to inspect multiple points of interest across the area. After collecting enough clues, So'lek will suggest moving to a vantage point. Climb to the top of the camp and discuss a plan with Nor. Once the cutscene ends, cross the river and keep following Nor.

Search the destroyed field lab

Your next stop is the Valleyside Field Lab, which has been completely destroyed. Climb around the ruins and investigate Resistance Storage Crates and other objects. After a short while, Nor will say that he heard some noises behind a locked door.

To open the door, locate the yellow wire connected to the room and follow it to a nearby electrical panel. Interact with the panel to sabotage it and unlock the door. Inside, you will find an injured RDA Trooper. Talk to him to extract information. He reveals that the Na’vi fled to nearby mountain caves.

Reach the mountain caves

Now, you need to fly to the mountain caves using your Ikran. After landing, keep following the objective marker on foot. Just like the previous sections, the path is pretty much linear with no combat. Eventually, you’ll encounter a large purple leaf blocking the way that cannot be destroyed from the front.

Turn right and dive into a small pond to swim to the other side. Look up and shoot the round orange object to drop down a vine. Climb up and interact with the purple leaf from the opposite side to open the path for Nor.

Navigate the cave

Continue forward until you reach a large cliff with the objective marker below. At one point, you will encounter a Feral Thanator, which you can eliminate or simply avoid by quickly climbing upward using another vine. Soon after, you’ll face a Thanator near a waterfall, which must be defeated to go forward.

Follow the objective marker to reach a nearby waterfall and a cutscene would trigger right after. This marks the end of the Family Ties quest.
