Brenda Song has more than proven herself in the sports knowledge and fandom department, which is exactly why she was the perfect choice for a new partnership with the Los Angeles Rams.
Also a superfan, the "Running Point" actress has teamed up with her favorite team to channel her inner "Weekend Update" anchor in a satirical SNL-style news report packed with locker room burns and rival roasts. Swapping Xs and Os for punchlines and hot takes, the cheeky "Schedule Update" sketch also features Rams’ 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year Jared Verse and 2024 Defensive Rookie of the Year runner up Braden Fiske, who show off their comedic chops, alongside "SNL" alum and lifelong Rams supporter Taran Killam, who returns to his sketch roots for a special segment from across the pond, to celebrate the Rams’ upcoming October showdown in London against the Jaguars.
After going viral for her amazing critique of last season’s Rams vs. Eagles game, the commercial sees defensive coordinator Chris Shula calls in to let Song know the Rams are neither signing her or hiring her as a coach. Instead, they landed on bringing her on board for this special project, because after all, Brenda knows ball!
Indeed, Brenda does know ball. That is exactly why she and partner Macaulay Culkin received their own custom jerseys during the Lakers' first round NBA Playoff matchup against Minnesota back in April. As for the Rams, they are set to begin their preseason against the Dallas Cowboys on August 9.
After two more additional preseason matchups against the Los Angeles Chargers and Cleveland Browns, they will officially kick off their season on September 7 with a home game against the Houston Texans.
