The Houston Astros came into the offseason with a few holes they needed to fill. They have to bring in another frontline starter or two, with Framber Valdez likely leaving elsewhere in free agency.
However, that is not the only hole they have to fill. They could also use a left-handed bat as their lineup has become right-handed-dominant.
They could also use a replacement at first base, with the club not seemingly committed to Christian Walker. So, the front office has its work cut out for it this winter.

Luckily for Houston, there are still plenty of difference-makers left on the open market. Between pitchers and hitters, the club has a ton of targets they could go after.
One interesting name still looking for a new opportunity is LeMonte Wade Jr. Bleacher Report's Zachary Rymer believes he could be an excellent fit in Houston.
"Wade isn't ancient and isn't far removed from posting a .376 OBP and 4.9 rWAR across 2023 and 2024. Of all the candidates to be picked up on minor league deals this winter, he might be the one with the most upside."
Wade would be the left-handed bat they are searching for. While the move would not be a headliner, it would help Houston in areas where it is struggling.
Wade could slot over at first base and handle the duties there. His high-contact and plate discipline are exactly what Houston needs next season.
On the otherhand, the Astros are not the only ones linked to Wade. Rymer also believes a deal with the Colorado Rockies or Washington Nationals could be in play.
So, if Houston wants their man, they may have to get a deal done sooner rather than later.
