Chelsea have one of the largest squads in the Premier League with a number of their players at other clubs in the hope of getting first-team experience before potentially making the move back to Stamford Bridge.
One such player is Axel Disasi, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa. Though things looked promising for the 27-year-old defender when he joined the Villans in February, things seem to have radically changed since then.
According to The Athletic, the Villans are now unlikely to sign Disasi permanently this summer, meaning that a return to Chelsea before being sold or loaned out again is probable.
It comes after the Frenchman was left out of Villa’s matchday squad for their 1-0 win against Fulham last weekend.
Chelsea already have the likes of Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo for the centre-back positions — it is why Disasi had to go out on loan — and could add to their options in the next transfer window.
Therefore, it is unlikely that Disasi will get any game time if he moves back to Stamford Bridge, and so, another loan move or a permanent transfer away from the Blues cannot be ruled out.

Axel Disasi’s story at Aston Villa so far
Disasi moved to Villa Park in February this year and made a strong first impression at his new club. However, well begun is only half done, and he has failed to sustain his form for the side.
As a result, Aston Villa have reportedly decided not to sign the Frenchman on a permanent deal, and he will now most likely have to find another club.
However, Disasi has given a good account of himself and his abilities at Aston Villa, and it is likely that there will be a number of clubs ready to secure his services if and when he decides to find a new team.
