Some new reports regarding the Assassin's Creed series emerged last week, giving us a better idea of what to expect from Ubisoft's flagship series for the rest of the decade. While we learned about two Assassin's Creed titles for the first time, it has also been reported that the development of Assassin's Creed Hexe is taking longer than expected.

What new Assassin's Creed games are in the works?

On Nov. 6, Ubisoft insider j0nathan posted a YouTube video in which he teased two new Assassin's Creed games. One is codenamed Mars and is reportedly a traditional Assassin's Creed game set in Ancient Rome, the same era in which the show's upcoming Netflix adaptation is set. The other is Assassin's Creed Pocket, a mobile game inspired by Valhalla's Mastery Challenges that will be set in Jerusalem.

Insider Gaming followed up the next day to say that it'd heard of Assassin's Creed games with similar codenames, although it was not able to verify the projects enough to report on them first. It then revealed some more verified information about Assassin's Creed Hexe: While it was expected to be released in 2027, it has internally been pushed back to 2028.

Assassin's Creed Hexe was first teased by Ubisoft in 2022, and is supposed to have a more magical edge and be set in the Holy Roman Empire during the 17th century. While Ubisoft has promised to reveal more about the game next year, we've yet to actually see the game in action. According to Insider Gaming, Hexe's development has "had issues," with several high-level developers exiting Ubisoft during its development.

Insider Gaming now does not expect Hexe to launch until 2028; in turn, it also reports that Mars likely wouldn't be released, or even revealed, until 2029 or 2030 at the earliest. For now, we'll just have to stick to playing Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced.
