Arsenal face Manchester City in the FA Community Shield on Sunday, the first time in 22 years that the Gunners have stepped out in this fixture as Premier League champions.
After three second-place finishes in succession, Mikel Arteta's side outlasted City to claim glory last time around.
However, City were unbeaten in the three matches between England's two leading clubs last term, taking a draw and a win from the league matches and winning the Carabao Cup final 2-0.
Victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final booked City's place in this fixture and saw Pep Guardiola sign off with his final trophy.
Enzo Maresca, a former Guardiola No. 2 like Arteta, now takes the reins. Both clubs have marquee signings in midfield, with Elliot Anderson now City's club record signing, while Bruno Guimaraes has swapped Newcastle for Arsenal.
It remains to be seen how much of a part World Cup stars such as Erling Haaland play in this match, with the big kickoff in the Premier League a week away.
