Arsenal make contract push to secure 73-goal winger's long-term future

Arsenal are intensifying their efforts to secure Bukayo Saka’s long-term future with club officials preparing to hold another round of talks with his representatives next week.

According to TBR Football, the meetings will be led by sporting director Andrea Berta who wants the deal finalized before the end of the international break to maintain stability around Mikel Arteta’s first team.

Saka’s new deal is viewed inside the club as a top priority after Berta tied down William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhaes, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly earlier this year.

The contract discussions form part of Arsenal’s broader long-term plan after an aggressive summer that saw £250m [$335m] spent on new signings to reinforce the core of Arteta’s team.

Saka remains one of Arsenal’s most valuable assets after having made 273 appearances across all competitions by October 6 2025 with 73 goals and 71 assists recorded since his debut.

This season alone, he has already scored two times in five Premier League matches.

Saka is impressed by Arsenal’s progress

Football journalist Graeme Bailey revealed that Saka is encouraged by Arsenal’s steady progress under Arteta and believes the current squad can compete with the strongest teams in Europe.

“I am told Saka is impressed by how the club have moved on with the squad, he feels they can now compete with anyone in Europe, not just as an 11 but as a squad," he said [via TBR Football]

“They are now confident the deal will be agreed, sooner rather than later and potentially within the next month. Broad agreement on the finances is already just about in place.”
