Liverpool continue to struggle for Premier League form after Arne Slot's side lost 3-2 at Brentford.
Defeat to arch rivals Manchester United on October 19 meant the defending champions had lost four successive matches as part of the worst run of Slot's managerial career.
That slide was stopped with a superb 5-1 Champions League win away at Eintracht Frankfurt in midweek - to avoid losing five on the run for the first time since 1953 - but it was a familiar story at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Slot has hinted at his defence struggling against a direct attacking approach and Brentford played on that via long throws and set pieces.
Dango Outtara's opener came on the back of a hurled Michael Kayode throw-in before Mikkel Damsgaard's outrageous pass released Kevin Schade to make it 2-0.
Two penalty calls either side of half-time, as Milos Kerkez scored his first Liverpool goal, ultimately decided the result.

Cody Gakpo was controversially denied a spot kick after a clash with Brentford captain Nathan Collins, before the officials gave Brentford a penalty, after Virgil van Dijk was adjudged to have fouled Outtara inside the box.
Igor Thiago slotted home, and despite a spectacular late finish from Mohamed Salah, Liverpool have now lost four in a row in the Premier League for the first time since 2021.

Slot's busy schedule means he needs to find a solution quickly ahead of the EFL Cup clash with Crystal Palaceon October 29, but the former Feyenoord boss is currently short on answers.
"Teams have a certain playing style against us, which is a very good strategy to play," he said.
"We haven’t found an answer to that yet, and that every time going 1-0 down doesn’t really help as well.
"If you change a lot in the summer, I think it’s not a surprise that it can go a bit like this, but I didn’t expect it to go with four league losses in a row.
"It’s always a bit of a bumpy road. I don’t know if that has been seen as an excuse, but from the last six games we've played, it's been five away."
The Palace game is the first of three at Anfield before hosting Aston Villa in league action and a crunch UCL battle with Real Madrid.
