ARC Raiders needs COD streamers to stay away from the game, Swagg proves why

ARC Raiders is one of the many games I follow on X. As a writer, I use this social platform to stay updated with game channels, their announcements, and other industry-wide phenomena. Among these posts, several critical opinions from popular streamers about games outside their usual genre have been the most entertaining to witness.

This is because such opinions are backed by a large number of community members who stand behind their streamer, creating discourse within the game's player base.

Please note - This article is subjective and based on the writer's opinions.

Embark Studios' ARC Raiders has no place for a UAV

Recently, a Twitch clip from the popular COD streamer FaZe Swagg (@Swagg on X) highlighted the content creator stating the following:

"You know what would be really useful in ARC is a UAV..."

In this clip, Swagg was talking to his teammates and asking whether ARC Raiers, the popular extraction shooter, has any recon-based abilities. After he stated that ARC could use UAVs, a COD killstreak gadget that lights up the minimap with enemy locations, several players have called him out for suggesting such an absurd idea.

@CoDClipped Stop trying to turn every game into the slop called call of duty....

RalphyyR6 on X, a popular community member and Rainbow Six creator, replied:

"Stop trying to turn every game into the slop called call of duty...."

This straightforward reply targets Swagg's statement at its core. ARC Raiders and Call of Duty are two different games, with their own premise, playstyles, and player bases. Having played both for a fair share of time, I can confidently say that interchanging gameplay elements can never be a mature step for either of the games.

Call of Duty is synonymous with fast-paced action, where I can turn off my brain for a while and shoot my way through Nuketown 24/7. ARC Raiders, on the other hand, offers a more immersive experience where I take up the mantle of a survivor living in Speranza and head out to scavenge resources in a land filled with scary ARCs and hostile players.

UAVs in COD are an exceptional tool because I can instantly benefit from them. Kills are a major factor in this franchise, and having the bonus minimap information helps me further increase my killstreak or widen the gap between both teams.

ARC Raiders utilizes larger maps, and the main motive in this game is survival. UAVs are completely irrelevant because, unlike Call of Duty, killing has never been a necessary step in Embark Studios' extraction shooter. The ARC Raiders community has a large number of players who prefer PvE against the hostile robots, while the other half likes to engage in PvP battles as often as they can.

UAVs would be detrimental to a good percentage of players who avoid PvP, and it would be pointless against ARCs.

To further explain the difference, if I am playing the new Black Ops 7 winter event, I would definitely hate facing the Matriarch and all the minibosses. The Dravec SMG that I enjoy running would be unable to put a dent in it, and the whole game mode would just fall apart. The same applies to UAVs in ARC.

@CoDClipped Bro no shot he’s pulling the same bait he did like on battlefield

ChrisCovent on X, an ARC Raiders creator, replied to FaZe Swagg's clip with the following statement:

"Bro no shot he’s pulling the same bait he did like on battlefield"

This reply is a reference to the numerous comments Swagg made during the Battlefield 6 release month, which were equally criticized for being just as baseless. Swagg quite possibly may be just a marketing genius who utilizes satire to garner the attention of a playerbase and farm views on X and Twitch. However, the ARC Raiders community is not having any of that.

@CoDClipped It’s not that kind of game. These dorks think it’s Fortnite or cod. It’s not a high kill game. It doesn’t matter. They are missing the plot.

Realcrackashii on X, another community member calmly stated the following:

"It’s not that kind of game. These dorks think it’s Fortnite or cod. It’s not a high kill game. It doesn’t matter. They are missing the plot."

Going back to the foundations, ARC Raiders is an immersive extraction shooter that should never be compared with games like Fortnite or Call of Duty. While the former is a battle royale where building is the most important tool for winning, the latter is a fast-paced multiplayer where I can use the omnimovement to dominate a lobby.

At the end of the day, streamers, content creators, and players are free to boot up any game they want and present their personal opinions. However, ARC Raiders players want COD streamers like FaZe Swagg to stay away from the game. This is because his influence can introduce a brand new crowd to this extraction shooter that severely degrades matchmaking and player quality.
