Anya Taylor-Joy went viral for her handling of a strange question thrown at her during her appearance on the “Today” show.

The actress was promoting her latest movie, “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie,” Wednesday, in which she reprises her role as Princess Peach.

The animated film is a sequel to 2023’s “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” which she starred in alongside Chris Pratt, Jack Black and Charlie Day.

“Today” host Craig Melvin sat down with Taylor-Joy and brought up rumors she’s going to play iconic singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell in an upcoming biopic. He then segued into a question asking her to compare Mitchell and Princess Peach.

“You’re rumored to be playing Joni Mitchell … one of the, arguably, most singularly important women in music over the last generation or so. Princess Peach, one of the most iconic women in gaming history. What’s the connection there?”

Taylor-Joy, 29, paused at the question, asking, “What’s the connection between Joni and Princess Peach?”

Melvin confirmed, “Yeah.”

The “Queen’s Gambit” star then answered, “How they’re both singular; you can’t touch them.”
