Anthony Seigler could be the latest Red Sox call-up to spark a struggling offense

When the Red Sox traded Kyle Harrison, Shane Drohan and David Hamilton to the Milwaukee Brewers, they got immediate MLB returns with Caleb Durbin and Andruw Monasterio. However, there was a third player that hasn’t seen the field in Fenway: Catcher and infielder Anthony Seigler.

Seigler is now getting to fix that, as he was called up to the big leagues once again, this time as a member of the Red Sox. Hopefully, he’ll bring a spark to the offense that is desperately needed.

Seigler’s 2025 left much to be desired

Last year with the Brewers, Seigler started in AAA Nashville, where he slashed .285/.414/.478/.892 with 16 doubles, four triples, eight home runs, 39 RBI, and 23 stolen bases in 71 games played.

However, when he was finally called up, he floundered. He was only slashing .194/.292/.210/.501 with one double, five RBI, and two stolen bases in 34 games.

This led to him being put back on AAA for Boston, so they could see if he could reclaim his swing.

Seigler has been tearing up AAA once again

It seems like he definitely found his bat again in 2026 with Worcester. In 30 games, he’s slashing .298/.425/.471/.896 with seven doubles, a triple, three home runs, 21 RBI, and three stolen bases. Seigler was also hitting a whopping .344 in the month of May.

It looks like having some experience in the MLB allowed him to be better than ever before in AAA, which could help transition better this time back to The Show.

Hopefully Seigler brings the pop Boston needs

Right now, Boston is definitely lacking in the consistent power department. They have a few hot hitters in guys like Wilyer Abreu, Jarren Duran, Durbin, Willson Contreras, and Ceddanne Rafaela, but they still struggle with leaving runners on base.

Now, with Seigler and his .896 OPS joining the Boston roster, the Sox may finally have an answer to some consistent power hitting.
