Anthony Edwards' ankle injury has extra history reason for concern for Timberwolves

It'd be bad enough if Anthony Edwards' ankle injury in Thursday night's Game 2 vs. the Warriors was all the Timberwolves had to worry about.

But a bit of injury history means Minnesota could be in an even worse spot.

Edwards had his left ankle landed on by Golden State center Trayce Jackson-Davis, which prompted it to roll.

He's questionable to return, per the Timberwolves, with a left ankle sprain, although it looks like he plans to start the third quarter after halftime.

The bad part? This has happened before.

Edwards turned this same ankle in Game 4 of the first round against the Lakers, per ESPN's Dave McMenamin.

Ankle injuries can become recurring if a player has a tendency to have that stress put on that part of the body.

Just ask Warriors star Stephen Curry, who for a while at the start of his career didn't seem to be able to escape the doldrums of wonky ankles.

Hopefully that's not what Edwards is dealing with, and these are just flukes.

But it's something worth keeping an eye on.

The Timberwolves superstar is one of the most-gifted players ever when he's healthy. Minnesota just needs to keep him on the court.
