Fresh off of singing backup on Greg Freeman's new album All Set The Bone and dropping her own EP Space, you big cloud, folk-rock singer-songwriter Anna McClellan is capping off a busy year with the release of another EP. South Of Dodge, named after a street in McClellan's native Omaha, is out later this month, and she's already shared early track "Drank Earlier." Now we're getting "Anywhere," a collaboration with Garrett Burke, the Philly producer and percussionist known as Gloorp. McClellan explains:
"Anywhere" is about impending change, which makes sense because I wrote it right before I moved from Omaha. You know when you’re supposed to be packing but you just sit at your piano and write a song instead. I was falling in love. I was hanging out with new people. It felt fresh, it felt like a scene was emerging that I had written off as impossible. I was like, of course, things always start to line up right before you leave, making the exit much more bittersweet than you imagined 6 months ago. It literally ALWAYS happens. I’m pretty sure it's Newton’s fourth law? “An object about to be in motion must second guess everything.”
Huge shoutout to Garrett Burke aka Gloorp for the beat!!! I just asked him to make a sick beat and he was like, ok I got you. If only it was always this easy. Love you Garrett.

The South Of Dodge EP is out 11/20 on Exploding In Sound.
