Angels fans won't like seeing where their team sits in latest power rankings

Earlier in the season, there was some life within the Los Angeles Angels organization. Mike Trout was tearing the cover off the ball, and they were getting elite pitching performances from Jose Soriano.

However, Trout has cooled off a bit, and Soriano was coming off a four-game losing streak during his starts before they won against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.

They had a horrible May and have not started June off on the right foot. They have gone 2-4 to start the new month and have some tough series coming up in June, like one against the Tampa Bay Rays and Arizona Diamondbacks right after.

Angels fans won't like seeing where their team sits in latest power rankings

The Halos couldn't get much going against the Colorado Rockies last week, losing the series 1-2. That was also the same result they had over the weekend against the Dodgers.

With these results, Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter had no choice but to bump the Angels down from No. 26 last week to No. 30 in his latest power rankings.

"The Angels plated 13 runs on Sunday, the most the Dodgers have allowed all season, but they still dropped consecutive series last week while falling to 4-7 in their last 11 games. With a 1.89 ERA and 27 strikeouts in 19 innings over his last three starts, Reid Detmers has seemingly hit his stride in his transition back to the rotation."

Now, not all is bad with the Angels. As Reuter mentioned, pitcher Reid Detmers has looked sharp recently. However, they are going to need a lot more than just Detmers figuring it out if they want to turn this season around and climb up the power rankings.

It wouldn't hurt for another arm to step up, and the offense needs to figure out a way to limit its giant strikeout problem.
