The Los Angeles Angels are sure to field plenty of trade inquiries on their players at this year's MLB trade deadline. As one of the worst teams in the league, the Angels are sure to sell.
But Mike Trout isn't going anywhere, and the odds of Reid Detmers or Jose Soriano getting dealt don't look great either. However, that doesn't mean the Angels won't be selling some players.
As Tim Kelly of Bleacher Report highlighted, an All-Star slugger and veteran outfielder/designated hitter might be a "buy low" trade target this year amid a down season, which featured a brawl against the Atlanta Braves near the start of the season.
Angels slugger could be 'buy low' trade target amid down year, which included a brawl
"The Angels might not be willing to trade Mike Trout or Jo Adell, but it likely won't take much more than a warm minor league body to convince them to deal the expiring contract of Jorge Soler," Kelly writes.
While not all the Angels players will be available for trade, Jorge Soler is sure to be readily available for any interested club to come and make an offer.
Those offers probably won't have to be very good, for a multitude of reasons. The first of which is that Soler hasn't been all that good this year.
In 72 games, Soler has a .216 batting average and a .693 OPS with a 95 OPS+. He has 11 home runs and is a right-handed slugger who could be a little interesting, but with suspect defense, he's likely locked into the DH spot.

His offense isn't exactly exciting, but the real issue for Soler, and what makes him really unappealing to teams, is that he's main the final year of a three-year, $42 million contract.
The combination of his underwhelming offense, his big contract figure, and Soler's inability to slot into the outfield confidently full-time makes him a clear buy-low trade target.
And while it's not an issue worth backing out of a deal for Soler over, but his brawl earlier this season against Braves pitcher Reynaldo Lopez is certainly another factor potentially at play to diminish his trade value.
But, for clubs with an opening at designated hitter, landing Soler and making him their starting DH might not be such a terrible idea. That deal for the Angels, however, would likely be for very little. But it's better than nothing for an expiring player like Soler.
