Andrade's pro-wrestling future is currently in doubt after a contract dispute with WWE seemingly nipped his second AEW run at the bud. El Idolo has now taken to social media to send a cryptic message to his followers during the latest edition of Monday Night RAW.
After finishing up his initial All Elite Wrestling tenure in 2023, Andrade returned to World Wrestling Entertainment during the 2024 Men's Royal Rumble match. Despite the initial hype surrounding his comeback, the former WWE NXT Champion was booked primarily in the company's mid-card once again. Although he continued to impress fans on a weekly basis, the sports entertainment juggernaut let the luchador go last month, reportedly after multiple wellness violations.
On October 1, Andrade made his shocking AEW return on the Six Year Anniversary edition of Wednesday Night Dynamite by attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family. However, El Idolo disappeared from the promotion's programming soon afterwards. Reports came out subsequently claiming that WWE had sent AEW a cease-and-desist letter to stop using Andrade, as the latter had supposedly violated the Stamford-based company's non-compete clause.
Amidst the 35-year-old's ongoing legally-enforced hiatus, and during this week's episode of Monday Night RAW, Andrade took to X/Twitter to share a workout picture of himself in peak physical shape. The caption of the post could be referencing his current contractual situation, as it states:

"When you think about giving up, remember the reason why you started…. 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼," wrote Andrade.El Idolo's non-compete violation might keep the star away from the ring for a year, and although rumors suggested that the clause was being used as leverage to bring Andrade back to the Triple H-led company, later reports have refuted those claims, clarifying that the star has not been factored into the promotion's creative plans.
Tony Khan comments on ex-WWE superstar Andrade's status
A few days earlier, AEW head honcho Tony Khan appeared on the Superstar Crossover podcast by Z100 New York. During his interview, TK addressed Andrade, and heaped praise on the latter as a talent. The All Elite creative head neglected to share specifics regarding the former WWE US Champion's contract situation, but nonetheless reiterated his respect for El Idolo, stating:
“Well, Andrade El Idolo was a great wrestler in AEW, and he left at the end of Worlds End ’23, at the end of 2023. I gave, actually here in New York, [a] press conference at the scrum, and I said, ‘I think Andrade El Idolo is a great wrestler, he’s leaving AEW on a very high note, and he’s leaving on the best of terms.’ And all of that is true, and I have a ton of respect for him, and I can’t say much more other than to say that I’m very excited to see what happens next with Andrade. I love the guy very much, and I have a lot of respect for him,” Tony Khan said. [H/T ITRWrestling]It remains to be seen what lies next for Andrade on his pro-wrestling journey.
