A veteran recently helped Andrade El Idolo against WWE's legal actions. El Idolo has been absent from AEW since his debut, which happened days after WWE's breach of contract. Apparently, he was still under WWE's non-compete clause when he debuted in All Elite Wrestling. Additionally, he was under contract without pay after being terminated due to violations.
As a result of the contract breach, the 36-year-old star has been banned from performing for a year. Days after the controversy, veteran and lawyer David Otunga claimed that WWE would not stand a chance in court against El Idolo if he goes to court, as the sports entertainment juggernaut intends to prevent him from working anywhere and not pay him themselves.
While speaking with TMZ's Inside The Ring, David Otunga said that many advised him to share the video with Andrade. Surprisingly, the former United States Champion took a huge step and reached out to Otunga. The two then discussed the issue, and Otunga claimed it helped the 36-year-old star.
“Everybody was telling me, ‘Hey, you should reach out to Andrade. Make sure he should see this.’ And I said, ‘Yeah, actually, Andrade probably should see my video.’ And then he did. I'll say this — reached out and we spoke. Can't really get into it more than that, but I'm just happy that the videos I'm putting out are actually helping people. They're actually helping wrestlers," he said. [H/T - WrestlePurist's X]Another veteran called out WWE regarding the Andrade situation
The 36-year-old star has received support from many personalities after WWE suspended him from competing for a year.
While speaking on Sportskeeda's Writing with Russo, Vince Russo said that WWE is trying to do something unlawful by not letting El Idolo work for his income.
"We've talked about this, you know, those guys don't want to burn any bridges or piss anybody off because they think they're going to get called back again. B S man, that they're trying to get away with something that, you know, literally is unlawful. And if you allow them to get away with that, I mean, they're going to keep doing it to everybody else," Russo said.It remains to be seen what the next step will be for him in the coming weeks.
