At an age when most fighters are long removed from competition, Anderson Silva continues to redraw the edges of what a post-UFC career can look like. The former middleweight king has found a second wind in professional boxing, and recently scripted a solid win in Miami.
Silva’s latest win came on Dec. 19 in Miami, where he stopped Tyron Woodley in the second round on the undercard of the Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua event. The victory moved his professional boxing record to four wins and two losses, with three knockouts.
Wins over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Tito Ortiz had already earned him credibility. The win over Woodley reinforced the idea that Silva is competing with purpose.
Following the win against Woodley, Silva claimed that he wants to join the Beverly Hills police academy, stating:

Silva, for long, has been involved in police training. Robert G. Luna, an American law enforcement officer, once took to Instagram to shed light on Silva's passion and wrote:
"Former UFC champion Anderson Silva has been a dedicated supporter and contributor to our Force Training Unit for several years. His commitment to excellence and mentorship made a lasting impact on our team and mission. Most recently, Anderson took the next step in his journey with us by enrolling as a student in our Force Instructor School (FIS). Today, he graduated from the program alongside his fellow classmates."Silva's ambition to be involved in law enforcement surfaced publicly during his recovery from the leg break suffered in his rematch with Chris Weidman in 2013. While sidelined, Silva studied with the Los Angeles School Police Department.
The Weidman connection continues to shape this chapter of Silva’s career. Weidman ended Silva’s historic UFC title reign and later broke his leg in their rematch. A third meeting, this time in a boxing ring, was scheduled for November 2025 before a bicep injury forced Weidman to withdraw. Silva called out Weidman following the win against Woodley.
