Analyst has interesting choice for Bills' best draft pick

1 hour ago 2

The Buffalo Bills' draft hand saw the franchise take players on both sides of the ball, but with a more defensive flavor for coordinator Jim Leonhard.

T.J. Parker was the Bills' highest draft selection, taken in the second round after the franchise traded back, so it is natural to think that he was Buffalo's best draft choice.

But apparently that isn't the case.

For CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, he's named receiver Skyler Bell as Buffalo's best draft pick.

"Fourth-round receiver Skyler Bell isn't a big receiver, but he can get separation and should push for time as a rookie," Prisco wrote. "He did have some trouble with drops, but he's a good player."

What are Bell's expectations?

Well, given the receiver depth chart, you could make the case that Bell, if he has a good offseason and shows out in preseason games, could see the field early.

Currently listed as a backup and down on the depth chart, behind Khalil Shakir, DJ Moore, Joshua Palmer, and Keon Coleman, Bell will have his work cut out to get on the field, at least initially.

But special teams provides a potential route to getting on the field, and if Joe Brady sees what he wants out of the rookie, expect snaps on offense to come rather quickly.

As a fourth-rounder, expectations won't be too high, but that also means Bell, with a good offseason, can easily exceed them.
