The Pittsburgh Steelers are a fascinating watch in 2026 under Mike McCarthy, mostly because right now, we have no idea who will be the quarterback.
And out of those in the running, none appear too appealing.
The franchise feels like it's waiting for Aaron Rodgers to decide on his future, and if he retires, it's Mason Rudolph and Will Howard as the options. That isn't great, but at least it's a change, right?
CBS Sports' Pete Prisco has the Steelers at No. 20 in his latest power rankings and shines a light on the horrible quarterback position the franchise is in.
"They are waiting patiently on Aaron Rodgers to make a decision as to whether he will play," Prisco wrote. "It looks like he will, but new coach Mike McCarthy has to hope he does because there aren't a lot of options left."

Can Steelers wait for Rodgers?
They can, and it appears they are.
We know that Rodgers gives Pittsburgh the best chance to win games in 2026, but he doesn't do anything for the franchise long-term. If he could win the Super Bowl, that would be reason enough to keep him, but we know that's unlikely.
So, the Steelers feel like they are stuck between a rock and a hard place at quarterback.
Go with Rodgers and accept the limitations. Or go with Howard or Rudolph and potentially have a first losing season in over two decades to kickstart a reset.
Which way will the franchise go?
