Analyst casts strong doubt on Arch Manning winning 2025 Heisman, drags Quinn Ewers through the mud in process

Former Georgia QB Aaron Murray smells something fishy in the whole Arch Manning hype. Touted to be one of the top QBs in the country in 2025 and a strong Heisman contender, Murray isn't convinced whether Manning is actually talented enough to deserve all the hype.

If he were as good as widely believed, why didn't Steve Sarkisian let him take over Quinn Ewers when Texas still had a shot at the National Championship?

This very fact has Murray apprehensive.

"I am not sold, like so many of the other people are, that this guy is going to be the number one pick in NFL draft, that he’s going to just be unbelievable, that he’s going to be the next coming of Peyton and Eli, but that’s mobile," Murray claimed on Sirius XM.

"If you are so good and everyone has you projected number one pick in the NFL Draft, come 2026, why in the hell are you not playing above a seventh-round quarterback? If Steve Sarkisian knows what he’s doing and he knows how good their roster is, which I’ve talked to a lot of coaches and a lot of different teams and I asked them, like, what are the top rosters? Ohio, State, Texas, probably Georgia. What was holding them back? Queen Ewers. Why was Arch not playing? It’s like that rubs me the wrong way a little bit."

In the process of making his point, Murray vilified Ewers based on his NFL draft pick.

"Quinn did not perform to the level that I thought he could and then you see now in the NFL Draft, I mean, he gets drafted in the seventh round? So all in all, Quinn Ewers had a disappointing season, and it reflected in his draft stock," Murray said.

Being the most-talked-about player in the country always comes with criticism. Now it is up to Manning's performance as a starter to either shut the critics or fuel them further.

The upside is facing Ohio State in their season opener. The QB's performance in this game will easily shape the narrative about him for the rest of the season.
