Dave Portnoy did not mince his words when criticizing UNC coach Bill Belichick after their embarrassing 28-12 loss at the hands of the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Barstool Sports owner shared a tweet on X questioning the decline in the eight-time Super Bowl champion's coaching skills.
"Watching UNC is so frustrating. It's like an alien stole Belichick's brain. Just horribly coached. Horrible decisions," Portnoy tweeted.•

"Belichick needs to retire. This is disgusting. I'm not even sure he knows the score or where he is."Bill Belichick made his collegiate coaching debut with the North Carolina Tar Heels this season. However, things have not worked out according to the expectations that people had of him in Chapel Hill.
After Saturday's loss to Wake Forest, the Tar Heels are 4-6, bringing an end to their two-game winning streak. They found themselves on the scoreboard thanks to four field goals by placekicker Rece Verhoff.
Quarterback Gio Lopez completed 21 of 36 passes for 201 passing yards. On the other hand, Wake Forest quarterback Robby Ashford completed 15 of 25 passes for 191 yards and three total touchdowns.
Bill Belichick addresses rumors about returning to coach in the NFL
After the New York Giants fired Brian Daboll following a disappointing 2-8 start to the season, the rumor mill began churning about Belichick as a potential replacement.
However, the UNC coach broke his silence on these rumors. In a post he shared on Instagram, Bill Belichick said that he has no intention of returning to the NFL.
"I have great respect and genuinely care for the New York Giants organization and both the Mara and Tisch families. The New York Giants played an important role in my life and in my coaching journey. It was a privilege for me to work for the Mara family and be a member of Coach Parcell's staff for over a decade. However, despite circulating rumors, I have not and will not pursue any NFL head coaching vacancies. "Since arriving in Chapel Hill, my commitment to the UNC football program has not waivered. We have tremendous support from the university. Our alumni, and the entire Carolina Commuity. My focus remains solely on continuing to improve this team, develop our players, and build a program that makes Tar Heel fans proud."Bill Belichick served as a part of the Giants' coaching staff from 1979 to 1990. During that time, they went on to win two Super Bowls (XXI, XXV) under former head coach Bill Parcells.
