Amy Schumer Reveals Side Effect of “Botched" Colonoscopy
Amy Schumer feels pretty in her postpartum body.
The I Feel Pretty star—who shares 7-year-old Gene with ex-husband Chris Fischer—unapologetically showed off the scar she received while welcoming her son via caesarean section in a new bikini snap shared to social media.
As Schumer wrote over the pic on her Instagram Stories July 10, “C-section peaking out saying, ‘Yeah, I’m a warrior.’”
In the pic, the 45-year-old posed in a cream bikini as the scar peaked out from her bathing suit bottoms.
And Schumer proved the mark is worth every moment she gets to soak up with her little guy, sharing a second snap of the mother-son duo watching fireworks on the beach together.
Following Gene’s 2019 birth, the Trainwreck star described her “really scary” delivery experience.
“I was throwing up through the first hour of my C-section,” Schumer recalled of the procedure on a 2019 episode of the Informed Pregnancy and Parenting podcast. “It’s supposed to take about an hour and a half. Mine took over three hours because of my endometriosis.”
Though Schumer, who had surgery to improve her endometriosis symptoms in 2021, noted her labor was “brutal,” she praised Fischer’s support at the time.
“Chris was so great. We just stared [into] each other’s eyes and he just held me there,” Schumer explained. “Then they let me hold Gene for a good amount of time. I got to see him and hold him.”

Though the couple announced last December that they would be going their separate ways after seven years of marriage, the comedian emphasized that their son will always some first.
"Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage," Schumer shared in a since-deleted Instagram statement Dec. 12. "We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son."
And while the pair’s romantic relationship may be over, there’s no bad blood.
As she added, "Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever."
