How to Watch Oscars 2026 and Live From E! Red Carpet
The Oscars has seen its fair share of celebrity couples come and go over the years.
While all eyes may just be on the likes of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet almost as closely as they’ll be on his Best Actor nomination, the reality star and Marty Supreme actor are only the newest in a long line of beloved couples to attend the Academy Awards.
For the zillennials, there was Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron, who attended the Oscars in 2009 coming off the 2008 release of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.
For the occasion, the then-couple donned matching black and white ensembles, attending the event together just one year before they would decide they better go their own way.
And heading deeper into the memories of millennials are once-couples such as Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe, Sarah Jessica Parker and Robert Downey Jr. as well as Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, all of whom once graced the Academy Awards as items in years past.
There have also been pairings, however, that have been lost to the pop-culture memory banks.
Take, for instance, Emily Blunt and Michael Bublé who dated for three years starting in 2005 and attended the Academy Awards hand-in-hand in 2007. Similarly, before Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen found—and lost—love, she dated Leonardo DiCaprio for six years and was by his side for the 2005 ceremony where he was nominated for The Aviator.

And Gen X, we haven’t forgotten you. Some of the it-couples of yore include Diane Lane and Josh Brolin, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas as well as Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
As for stars with decades in the industry under their belts, it should come as no surprise that they’ve also attended with various leading ladies and men who once held their hearts.
Brad Pitt, for instance, has attended the Oscars over the years with Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie, while Jennifer Lopez has had partners Marc Anthony, Ben Affleck and Alex Rodriguez by her side on the Academy Awards red carpet.
But don’t take our word for it: For a full round up of former Oscars couples—including the ones you forgot about—read on.
