All new Pokemon Pokopia variants revealed

With the upcoming title, Pokemon Pokopia, the franchise is diving in a bold new direction and it is shaping up the most unique entries yet. This upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive blends elements of life simulation and sandbox survival.

The game encourages to create, explore, and connect in a world filled with both familiar and brand-new Pokemon forms.

While the concept itself has already gotten fans excited, the recent trailer has revealed a deeper look at what to expect.

What is Pokemon Pokopia and when does it release?

Pokopia, scheduled to launch on March 5, 2026, puts players in the shoes of a Ditto who transformed into a human. Your goal is to survive and expand an empty stretch of land. You do that by constructing homes, furniture, and Pokemon habitats, from the resources like wood and stone you gather.

Professor Tangrowth, whom you will encounter along the way, gives you the responsibility of repairing the area and luring Pokemon back there.

The recent 10-minute reveal dives deep into gameplay, showcasing its crafting systems, cozy atmosphere, and charming visual style. But the reveal’s main highlight was the several new Pokemon variants that inhabit Pokopia, each bringing its own unique twist to beloved classics.

Here are the newly unveiled forms making their debut in Pokemon Pokopia:

• Peakychu: A pale variation of Pikachu with soft, drooping ears and fur of an unusual, muted hue.
• Mosslax: This version of Snorlax has been asleep for so long that moss now covers its entire body, with a small flower blooming on its head.
• Smearguru: A reimagined Smeargle whose body is splashed with various colors.

While their exact roles within the game have not been revealed, these new variants hint at the upcoming title’s central gist of the game. With its innovative premise and cozy design, Pokopia might be a popular pick when it arrives next year.
