All new items in Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem game drop

Minecraft Mounts of Mayhem update was released a few days ago and it was quite an interesting addition to the blocky world. The update focused on making the combat more challenging with new hostile mobs and also the powerful spear weapon. The developers also worked on making exploration more fun with the addition of the first underwater mob that you can ride.

This article will feature all the new items and mobs that came to Minecraft in the Mounts of Mayhem game drop. The update was so impactful that not only did it add new mobs, items, and weapons but also some interesting game mechanics that can be used to fly around the blocky world.

As mentioned before, the Mounts of Mayhem game drop has made the combat of Minecraft more challenging and that is achieved in an interesting way. While the developers did add the parched, a new skeleton variant found in the desert biome, the mob does not make combat more challenging in itself.

Now, hostile mobs such as the zombie, the drowned, the parched, and the husk can spawn riding their own mount. For example, the zombie gets the zombie horse, a mob that was already present in the game but not in Survival mode.

The parched and the husk will ride the new camel husk mob, and the drowned will mount the zombie nautilus. And the most interesting part is that these mobs can attack you while riding their mounts.

All the mountable mobs such as the camel husk, zombie nautilus, or the zombie horse can be mounted once you get the hostile mob off of them. These zombie animal mobs are passive when there is no hostile mob riding them.

Most of the new items in the final game drop of 2025 are accessories for the mobs such as the nautilus armor and spawn eggs for the new mobs. The addition of the netherite horse armor after a long wait was a pleasant surprise. Finally, you can take your horse to dangerous adventures with the best gear to protect the steed.

Apart from those items, the spear is certainly the most exciting addition to the game in a long time. Minecraft needs more weapons that can be used in creative ways to increase the damage it deals. While the mace was a great addition, it is very rare to come across and that takes away a lot of fun from the weapon.

The spear works very similarly to the mace; you need to increase your speed while attacking with it to deal more damage. You can do a normal jab attack or a special charged attack. The best part is that spears can be crafted using any item that can craft other weapons such as swords and axes.

The catch is that weaker spears have lesser cooldown time for a charged attack which requires you to plan your attacks. The spear can also be used while riding a mount, opening up possibilities of interesting combat styles.

The Mounts of Mayhem game drop was the last update of 2025 and the developers made sure to end the year with an exciting addition. With all the new things Minecraft got last year, it will be very exciting to see how the developers further improve the game in 2026.

Perhaps they should start with making some quality of life improvements like adding more villager types, improving the End, or even making the ocean more populated and fun to explore.
