Aliyah Boston did not need much time or many words to identify Team USA’s biggest trash talker. The Indiana Fever center joined her teammates for a lighthearted question about which player talks the most during competition. Her answer immediately placed Atlanta Dream star Angel Reese in the spotlight.
“Maybe Angel?” Boston said in a video shared by Bleacher Report.
Boston was hardly alone. Chelsea Gray, Paige Bueckers and Jackie Young also selected Reese, giving the forward a decisive victory in the unofficial Team USA poll.
The answers were playful, but they also revealed something meaningful about Reese. She has quickly become one of the most recognizable personalities on a roster loaded with WNBA stars and proven champions. Reese does not hide her emotions or her competitive nature. Whether she is battling for a rebound, celebrating a defensive stop or exchanging words with an opponent, the third-year forward plays with an intensity that is difficult to miss.
Angel Reese has backed up her words for Team USA
Reese has done more than talk during her first FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup appearance. Through three group-stage games against China, Italy and Czechia, she averaged 8.7 points and six rebounds while providing Team USA with energy inside. She finished with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Americans’ 105-64 victory over Czechia.

Her performance helped the United States finish group play with a perfect 3-0 record. Reese’s reputation did not surprise Bueckers. Before the 2026 WNBA season, the Dallas Wings guard explained that she and Reese have a friendship away from basketball but bring out the best in one another during games.
“I love Angel as a competitor,” Bueckers said. “We’re great friends off the court as well. She just brings the best out of you. She’s a crap talker just like me.”
Reese has enjoyed a standout season with the Dream, averaging 16.1 points and 12.4 rebounds while helping Atlanta emerge as a contender. Her production, personality and relentless rebounding have made her one of the league’s biggest attractions.
Boston’s response offered another reminder that Reese’s voice is just as difficult to ignore as her play.
On a Team USA roster featuring some of the most accomplished players in women’s basketball, Reese has already established herself as the one most likely to keep the conversation going.
