iHeartRadio Music Awards 2026: Miley Cyrus Shares How "Fake" Persona Gave Her Confidence

There was nothing ordinary about this awards show moment.

After the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards abruptly ended before Alex Warren could give his Song of the Year speech, the “Ordinary” singer shared his reaction to walking away with the major win.

The 25-year-old posted a mirror selfie with his wife Kouvr Annon onto his Instagram Stories March 27 while holding up the envelope that announced him as the winner of the night's biggest award and wrote "SONG OF THE YEAR."

During the March 26 ceremony, which aired on Fox, host Ludacris and Nikki Glaser announced that he had won Song of the Year at the awards show as the credits started to roll on the broadcast. The singer then walked onstage to deliver accept his award and deliver an acceptance speech, but before he could do so, the "Money Maker" rapper announced that the ceremony had to end.

"We don't have time for a speech!" Ludacris said into the mic, per footage shared on social media. "We gotta go. Thank you, everybody! Goodnight!"

As the crowd erupted, Alex appeared to attempt to deliver a speech, saying, "Damnit! Thanks to my wife, I love you!"

E! News has reached out to iHeartRadio and Fox for comment but has not heard back.

The singer won five iHeartRadio Awards in total, including Song of the Year, Best New Pop Artist and Favorite Debut Album for You'll Be Alright, Kid, and he had been able to deliver a speech earlier in the night while accepting the award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

"To think I was in the crowd right over there about three years ago as a fan watching this to now, performing and standing on this stage is a strange feeling," Alex said in his speech. "I was not a popular kid growing up, actually. I probably would've been voted most likely to not be a breakthrough artist by the entire school and probably some of the faculty members."

"I hope that if there's anyone at home watching this right now that feels like they're not good enough or that nobody believes in them, I do," he continued. "Truly, you're going to be something amazing, and I believe in you."

The Grammy-nominated artist also made sure to thank Kouvr.

"Thanks to my amazing wife, who I would still be homeless if it wasn't for you," he gushed. "You make me strive to be a better man every single day, and no matter how many lyrics there will never be a song long enough to tell you exactly how much I feel about you."
