Alex Singleton’s wife, Sam Amberik, shared a heartfelt message for her husband after the NFL star underwent surgery for testicular cancer. The Denver Broncos linebacker underwent surgery seven days after a random NFL drug test flagged indicators.

He had medical tests on Nov. 3 and, while awaiting the results, he competed in the team's Week 9 game. He then also played in Week 10 on Thursday Night Football before undergoing surgery on Friday.

The surgery was successful, and Singleton released a statement on his Instagram account on Monday, expressing gratitude to the people for their support. His wife reshared the post on her Instagram story with a strong message for her husband.

Alex Singleton said in his statement that he learned about the cancer on Monday, but still decided to compete in the Week 10 game on Thursday.

"Football's always been an outlet for me and always will be. … The short week honestly made it better. Tuesday, Wednesday, I got to fully immerse myself in football and … get this off my mind as much as I could," he said.

The Denver Broncos faced the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 10 and eked out a 10-7 win to improve to 8-2 on the season.
