The episode kicked off with Joyce introducing the staff to the hospital’s latest high-tech machine, a health scanner called a TOMO Pod. However, while the scanner proves to be a hit amongst the staff, it quickly leads to a chaotic spiral for Bruce after a near-perfect scan is ruined for him when it reveals that his spine has a slight curvature in St Denis Medical season 2 episode 3.

That leads to him creating more than a few awkward problems for Matt after his scan revealed a perfect spine, albeit with other health issues. However, for Joyce, the scanner proved to be the worst addition to the hospital although she brought it in because of the noise it made. The device was placed in the room next to her office, and it soon drove her out of her office.

She attempts to relocate elsewhere, but the constant disturbance from hospital staff, patients, and more eventually forces her to take drastic action. So much so that she ends up newspapering her car and turning it into a makeshift office for now.

Joyce’s latest well-meaning high-tech initiative ends up causing more problems than she expected

St Denis Regional Medical Center’s hospital director Joyce has an overwhelming sense of enthusiasm for innovation, and her latest attempt at bringing in high-tech equipment to the hospital goes awry yet again. After seeing the new Tomo Pod, a full-body health scanner, promoted online, Joyce went and bought it for the hospital, with her overjoyed at the fact that she had found a new way to improve things.

Not only that, but the hospital also threw in one free scan for every hospital employee, and that’s where things went wrong in St Denis Medical season 2 episode 3. While Joyce wanted the free scans to inspire confidence in the staff’s bodies, things went exactly the opposite for Bruce.

After going through the machine, he finds out his scan is near perfect, as everything from his muscle mass to his liver was in perfect condition except his spine. The scan revealed that he had a slight deviation of his spine that was indicative of scoliosis, and he starts obsessing over it in St Denis Medical season 2 episode 3.

Things become even worse when Matt tells him that his spine was perfect, although he did have other health issues, but that was not what Bruce focused on. Instead, he proceeded to compete with Matt throughout the episode, making life slightly awkward for him.

Things didn’t quite go in the same way Joyce expected, either, as she was overjoyed with the new machine until it was turned on. As it turns out, the Tomo Pod was placed right next to her office, and thus the device’s constant hum proceeds to drive her out of her office in St Denis Medical season 2 episode 3.

So much so that she goes into the hospital’s corridor, the pit, and several other areas to try to get some work done, only to get either distracted or annoyed by the noise. Things became so bad that by the end of the day, Joyce was forced to turn her car into a makeshift office, covering the windshield with newspaper and parking it in the middle of the road.

From season 1, Ron has always tried to disrupt things across the hospital, attempting to get his viewpoint over others. And the new season hasn’t changed the older doctor at all, as he does exactly that in St Denis Medical season 2 episode 3. When Alex insists that she and her husband, Tim, openly communicate about everything, Ron doubts her and proceeds to challenge her.

He tells her to tell Tim about “hot Gary,” a delivery driver that the nurses find attractive. Determined to prove their relationship, Alex does exactly that, only for her husband to casually admit that he finds Serena attractive. That backfires on her spectacularly when Ron overhears that and asks her to tell Serena that, which Alex yet again proceeds to do.

Serena, however, misreads that as a proposal for her to join them as a throuple. But Alex quickly shuts that down, and it makes things even more awkward when she tries to explain herself, and it should have ended there. However, Tim arrives with flowers, wondering whether Alex was upset with him after he told her about Serena, but instead it makes things worse.

Alex then tells him she was fine with things but that she told Serena, leading to Tim attempting to assure Serena that he didn’t want to sleep with her. That made things even more awkward as Ron watches on smugly as Alex somewhat admits defeat.
