Over an incredible 22-year MLB career, Alex Rodriguez posted unbelievable numbers. After his final season in 2016, Rodriguez finished his career with 117.4 WAR, 696 home runs, 3,115 hits and 2,086 RBI's.
Furthermore, he won three MVP awards, 10 Silver Slugger awards, two Gold Glove awards and made 14 All-Star appearances.
With all of that in mind, he still has not made the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Since becoming eligible in 2022, Rodriguez has yet to amass over 37.1% of votes.
Considering 75% is necessary to be inducted, the former Yankees star is still more than halfway there. Despite his tremendous career numbers, Rodriguez is one of many steroid users who have been kept out of the Hall of Fame.
However, in comparison to other steroid users, Rodriguez is one who tested positive to steroid use and served a hefty suspension (Barry Bonds did neither and has also not made the HoF).
Recently, the 50-year-old Rodriguez opened up about the possibility of never being inducted. "If I went to the Hall of Fame, in a weird way, I would be hollow inside. I would still be in a lot of pain," said Rodriguez. "I would rather have what I have today, because it really helped me unlock a lot of the work that I needed to do."
Rodriguez went on further to speak about how therapy has helped him become detached from the idea of being inducted.
As it stands, 2030 would be Rodriguez' final year on the ballot.
