Al Horford's kids expected to play factor in his Celtics decision

It was unfortunate that Jayson Tatum went down for the Boston Celtics for many reasons. However, the Celtics' look next year has undergone a complete change because of it. 

With the possibility of Al Horford now leaving in free agency due to this injury, it's tough to say that he's in the wrong. 

Horford, 39 years old, wants to try to win in the back end of his career. However, after winning a championship with the Celtics, perhaps he's content and just wants to ride off into the sunset. 

According to the Boston Globe, there will be other factors in Horford's decision. The Globe reported that he has five children and looks happy in Boston. 

That could be all he needs to stay in the great city with a historic franchise. 

“A month has passed since the Celtics’ last game, and a league source said Monday that there is ‘nothing new’ to report regarding Horford’s status. This is a weak free agent class, so teams with fewer financial restraints than the Celtics would likely be positioned to offer more than Boston, perhaps the mid-level exception. But Horford also has five young children and appears happy in Boston. He captured his elusive NBA title last season, which could reduce the urgency to win just a bit,” they wrote.

Losing Horford wouldn't just hurt from a team perspective, as he’s shown that he still has plenty left to give on the court, shooting 36.3% from 3-point range and averaging 9 points and 6.2 rebounds, but he's loved on and off the court for the Celtics. 

Many players have said he's their best veteran, and that means something.
